School Meals
Lunch Time
Meals are provided by Stir Catering. Hot meals are free for KS2 this year courtesy of the Mayor of London. Reception and KS1 receive free hot meals by UIFSM.
We feel passionate about the benefits of a healthy hot meal at lunchtime for pupils. Research shows that better food in schools is improving what children eat during the day, and there's evidence of a clear link between what children eat at lunchtime in school, where they eat it and how they focus with their teachers in the afternoon.
Packed Lunches
All packed lunches should provide children with a sensible and balanced diet that is in line with the Healthy School Meals Policy which can be found below.
Please do not include any items containing nuts or any nut based products as we have children with serious nut allergies and protocols are in place to protect them.
A packed lunch must be in a named, sealed box or bag with no glass bottles, fizzy drinks or cans.
Break Time Food
Whether your child is in Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2 we would like to encourage children to have a healthy break time snack. Children in Reception, Year 1 and 2 receive a portion of fruit or vegetable free of charge daily (usually apple, pear, banana or carrot). Milk is also available free to children five and under. Children in Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 may bring some fresh or dried fruit or vegetables. Biscuits, chocolate, sweets, crisps etc... are not allowed as we aim to encourage a healthy diet and lifestyle. Water is always available, and children can also bring in their own bottle from home, as long as it has been clearly labelled with the child's name and class.
